Gospel Principals 5/31-6/5

This week was pretty interesting. As you know that I changed my idea and personal project to financial planning. This week I was asked to write up a book report about a book, The Richest Man in Babylon. During my report, I sought the spirit while doing so. I realized something that I was overlooking. I thought about just going into this new project with the idea that I will be helping people with their finances. So I thought about just finding out the industry, and then applying the info into my life to make me more appealing. Well that is not the way for me to do so. I found out I need to obtain the principles taught in the gospel, before I can go out into the work force.

Of course I do know that in the world I will not be talking about gospel principles, but I understand that I must first seek for the guidance and then everything will fall into place after that. The first thing that I was looking for is what the Lord's prophets of old (Book of Mormon) taught about finances. The reason why I did so is because The Book of Mormon is a great example of parables that would work in this day and age. I sought through the spirit the best way of managing my finances and such. This is going to be best suitable for me because then with the experience, I can teach someone off the street the most basic. I found that it is very important to take care of yourself before you pay your bills and such.

I realize that the main reason why we could be appealing is if we did exactly what was asked of us. This is what I learned during this project this week. So what I have decided and what I am working on right now are financial plans, (e.g. 401k, Roth IRA, Trusts, Bonds, etc...) This has helped me out a lot.
